Neither! I'm with Benny on this one too.

Maybe back when we were all kids and didn't have money to buy ourselves
stuff ... then Christmas was really exciting or not, depending on
whether or not mom and dad even had money to get gifts.
But nowadays ... Phil and I are also pretty self-sufficient and
throughout the year, if there's something we want/need, we just get it
if we deem spending the money is worth it.
We did a Secret Santa with two of our online groups and that was really
cool and gave us something to open on Christmas day. And everything was
useful and gratefully received.

But hey, with no immediate family around pestering for "traditions"
we're able to make up our own and do as we please. :D
