Ditto. I'm a total tech curmudgeon - never upgraded to a new CF version less than 6 months after release - but MX looks great.
Web services support as smooth as CFMX has is a good reason to upgrade all on its own. -----Original Message----- From: Mike Brunt [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Monday, April 29, 2002 5:10 PM To: CF-Talk Subject: RE: I like CFMX Dave 100% spot on. Talk is cheap, we are out here making things happen correcting nonsensical OO code and making it work in CF. Bottom line CF Works, has is and will continue to do so. We are all delivering applications that users use, we're walking the walk so as we say in good old Blighty, "stick that in your pipe and smoke it" you non-believing elitist nit-wits. There that feels better! And drinking at noon doesn't make you a hedonist, necessarily; it could make you a sot. Maybe you're drinking your troubles away? > Anyway, think about the perspective of non-CFers for a bit. > Will Java people respect CFMX for what it is when they see > some of the crap with CFCs? I am willing to bet that Java > developers would have more respect for CFMX if CFCs weren't > there. I think it's futile to construct the CF platform so that it'll please Java developers. CFML is thought of as a "toy" language now by that camp. Why would someone who wants to write in an OO environment consider CF at all? For that matter, CF has been thought of as a toy since its inception; everybody who used something else was always happy to disparage CF in favor of (Java/ASP/PHP/Perl/fill-in-the-blank). And, CF has almost always been a better solution than those alternatives. I'm happy to continue playing with CF, as long as it can be used to deliver solutions better, faster, and cheaper than the competition.
