Yes. It worked ok while all I was doing was using code i built
myself. Each "site" was actually a folder under the single root.
Then i started using ModelGlue, Reactor, Mach-II, etc and they dont
like it much if you have mappings to the root and they arent placed at
the root but a level lower.

So I needed to change the way I worked so that each "Site" was indeed
a real site with its own root. Under WinXPPro/IIS5.1 you can't do
that as it comes out of the box.

I considered a few alternatives, including the one you mention but
settled on changing my web server to Apache. I agree the IISAdmin
tool could have been another choice too.

I've spent most of a day and a half migrating my sites to the new web
server and in the process tidied up quite a few flaky issues that I've
lived with for some time, and done some other housekeeping too, and
its all running better now, and I have reactor running happily on
several sites.

Reactor is indeed a magic tool. If you havent had a look at it yet, I
strongly urge you to do so soon. Imagine doing a whole dynamic
application, and never writing any SQL at all. And when you change
the database, the code is re-written automatically for you!!!!.
MAGIC.
