Apply anyways.  I have yet to take part of an interview on either side
of the table where they base the hiring decision on the requirements. 
My experience is that they are a guideline for the initial weed out. 
I would hire a gun with a year's experience in a language over a
slacker with 3-years experience any day.  I have 5-years, but I'm
likely no where near the level of you, as I am not a dedicated
programmer, opting for more application definition or project /
account management roles.
