I would drop it ion and with my drill rotate it and watch the oil pressure
gauge. if the is a fluctuation in pressure and binding as you stated. IMO
it;'s time for a replacement
And as one guy said plastic gauge the bearings rod/main when you have
access after dropping the oil pan. You do not have to pull the eng to do
this job.
