There are differences. Bogie is crate trained. His crate is open for him to go in and out of. He chooses to take his naps there or hide when there is too much going on around here. We have a gated area which has his kennel, blanket, toys, pads and food and water for when we can't be here. Crating is nothing like being chained Sheila
