I know. That is just what I said. It looks like you were replying to my
answer which was basically the same as yours. No one on this list crops post
so it causes a lot of confusion sometimes.  I was asking if that was why the
vet said NOT to get the preventive, if that was the case why didn't this new
vet go ahead and test the dog?

You never give a dog heart worm medication unless they have been tested and
it is positive. It is a very toxix poison. That was the craziest think I
have ever heard of and just think if you did not research it - you could of
killed your baby all on the advice of the Vet.

This is mostly I think if he has not been tested. If you give heartworm meds
to a dog that has heartworms then that will make them sick.  I don't
understand why a vet would not recommend any heartworm preventive for a dog.
