If the dog has been tested and the test was negative then the medicine won't hurt him. Just be sure the dosage is correct for the size. Heartworm medicine is a great thing. We had to treat a dog for heartworms once years an years ago and it was not pretty at all.

My hubby just decided to go ahead then give him the heart worm medicine. Have you been giving yours heart worm medicine and have they had any effects. He's been tested for heart worms and it came back negative, he didn't have it. So wouldn't the medicine prevent him from getting it. And I think she said not to give him the puppy heart worm medicine I'm not sure. But when we went to our vets office that's the medicine they gave us. --- In [email protected], "dasha" <dash...@...> wrote: > > we not even give him the heartworm prevention medicine, because > she's had cases were the dog has gotten sick any way after taking the > heartworm medicine to prevent the heart worms. > > =================================== > > This is mostly I think if he has not been tested. I don't understand why a vet would not recommend any heartworm preventive for a dog. > > Sheila > ------------------------------------ " Lets talk about our wonderful little friends! Join today!
