Hello Joan, I work in San Bernardino, Live in Highland. It was cold yesterday! I am at the base of the mountains, so no snow for me. But I can see it when it does snow. Where I lived and kept my horse for 18 years Yucaipa, It gets snow. Its been in the low 40's when I get up. Everybody was under the covers this morning! Big storm coming this weekend. Ori hates to get his feet wet. He was a mill pup, that ended up at the Fashion Island puppy pet store. He had a real high $ for him, and he sat in there for 3 months, got kennel cough. They lowered his price since he was getting older and he was sick He was sold, and then the lady that bought him had him for a year and a half. She lost her job, then got a job in Hawaii. She couldn't take him, so she re homed him. The people that took him, kept him 2 months then decided they wanted a big dog. They gave him too a lady. She had him a week. She didn't have a fenced yard, he had seen a cat and chased it. She was then worried he would get hit? I don't know why she didn't have him on a leash? But anyway I saw her add on craigslist for free Papillon. She had put in the add free perfect dog! & he is! I am so blessed I got him. His only down fall is he sheds ! I brush and brush, but he still sheds. So I have allot of those du dads that roll the fur off ! LOL Have you ever read the book, Seven dogs in Heaven? I have been reading it. Good book for anyone who has lost a pet.

Dolly is too, but she is more the snuggle pup who wants to be by me most of the time. Lately she chooses to go in her area and lay in her bed in there rather than have to put up with Desi's silliness. Before I got Desi, Dolly would sleep under the blanket near my stomach or my lower back. After I got Desi, that changed immediately. Dolly wants to sleep right by my head. So I have to put a baby blanket over her and then she does her circles until she is where she wants to be. Then she wants my arm around her. I think I started that because I could no longer have my arm pillow next to me because I had my little chihuahua pillow there instead. If Desi gets in the bed first and lays next to my face, Dolly will go up higher and sleep next to my forehead if she has to. I think that Desi realizes that he isn't comfortable there and sometimes he will move a little bit lower about even with my chest - he has to have a blanket over him too. In fact, we get in bed and Desi is near the top of the bed, I put the blanket over him and he lays right down, gets comfy and he is off to sleep. It is getting into the 40's here at night and I have my heat set to come on when it is 68. It hasn't come on yet, but Dolly & Desi are starting to migrate under the covers. I have to take Lyrica and Kadian twice a day (if I am not having to drive in the afternoon) and so many mornings it is very difficult for me to get up before 10 am. I was feeling sorry for Dolly & Desi having to stay in bed so long. When I lay down in the afternoon, they follow me to bed then too, and they sleep until I get up. Last week, I had a doctor appt so I had to get up earlier. I got up, then Mandy and Dolly went outside potty, and I fed Mandy and Desi. They both went back to their respective places - Mandy in the big dog bed and Desi up next to Dolly in the recliner. When I had to leave, I couldn't wake them up. They didn't want to wake up...and the same with Mandy. Now I don't feel so guilty about them having to stay in bed until I normally wake up. You are in the San Bernardino area, correct? I have a blanket for him that I wrap around him. Then there is tiny Chassis, she goes under the comforter only half way down the bed. Dani starts out down at the foot, but comes up under the covers when she gets cold. & Caramella is next too my pillow. Last night was cold, so everyone was hunkered down. I put the electric blankets on the beds this weekend. Soon will be cranking them on.. I took Desi to the vet on the way home from the breeder (which she seemed to take offense at!) and he did a dewormer because he did not recognize the one that the breeder used, and gave him the first of his puppy shots. He said that for him being so little to wait about three days before the microchip. This decision was based on the fact that he was going to a new home, had the dewormer and a couple of his puppy shots so he wanted to wait to give his little (fat) body time to recoup. He did fine. Actually, when he was older, I took him for the heartworm test and when they brought him back to me he had the look on his face like he had been humiliated! I will NEVER forget that look. They had to take the blood from the artery in his neck, and Mr Desi Lou being the dog that loves to give kisses - didn't really hold still long enough for them to get the syringe in the artery. I know what they went through. Just last night I was trying to fall asleep in the recliner with Dolly & Desi on my lap and Mandy in the dog bed right close to the chair. They were all sleeping, but I had to go to the bathroom. Dolly was between my clothes and my sweatshirt jacket because she was so cold - so I just kept her there to avoid any problems getting her back to the chair without any extra doggy cookies. When I came back, Mandy went right back to sleep, Dolly was almost asleep the entire time, but Desi woke up and didn't fall right back to sleep. I had taken the Restoril and I was ready to nod off. Desi had a whole different idea. All of a sudden I had a little puppy kiss on my mouth, so I gently pushed his head back down on the blanket he was laying on...he kept it up and then finally I was just so tired and thought that maybe I could just close my eyes and go to sleep...that is all I remember so I don't know how long he continued to give kisses. He is very intent when he does it, and his neck muscles are locked so it is not easy to get him back to the sleeping I am trying to view the picture of Carmella, but this computer won't let me open it. On my laptop I would just click the Attachment link...but not this one. Desi was not...I got him at 8 weeks, so he must have been 8 1/2 weeks and almost 4 pounds. The syringe with teh microchip is a little bigger than the ones used for vaccines, but the chip is injected only through the fur...not into any muscle or anything. Both Dani & Ori are, Chassis isn't. I never had her or Smidgen done, as they were so small. I have an appt with the Humane Society in the morning to get Caramella done. Ori had his when I adopted him. Dani's was done when I had her spayed. I am not having Caramella spayed right now, so I am just worried about the pain when they inject it? Anyone else have this problem?Caramella is 4lbs 5 months Papillon Beth
