Next time he poops or pees outside soak up a little onto a pad, just enough to 
leave a scent.  Then use the pad inside, most likely, when he needs to go he 
will sniff on the pad, then use it (at least that's what we hope for).

Good to know! I will have to do the puppy pads vs. the baby pool thing. As I 
think about it - the baby pool idea will not work when he visits "grandma's" 
house. She loves to take him for an overnight and he loves to go so I would 
need something transportable. 

I can't seem to find links on how to get a puppy to go on a pad AFTER they are 
used to going outside. I can only find info. on the flip side.
