Pat Buchanan told me (as David Freeman caught in his review in *Finest Hour*
139), that his *Churchill, Hitler and the Unnecessary War* was in part
inspired by Harry Elmer Barnes
<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harry_Elmer_Barnes>, not Francis Neilson,
though there certainly is a familiarity of approach.

*Finest Hour *reviewed Neilson's *The Churchill Legend* (a whackin' long
read) in issues 64, 59, 55, 53 and 51. Issue 51 also contains a review of
his eloquent *Churchill as Fraud, Fakir and Warmonger.* Readable if not
perfect pdfs are posted; you have only to Google "Finest Hour 51," and so
on. I don't think Neilson was quite the charmer Pat is
<https://richardlangworth.com/buchanan>...

...but I must say, compared to the current crop of Churchill haters
<http://bit.ly/2inHpku> infesting the media, Pat and Francis seem tame.
