Judi, from the first time we have ever used it, we have covered the entire
floor, including the nest itself with a single layer of something, either a
sheepskin or those incontinent pads. We buy those pads by the case as part of
the supplies we use here in our elder care facility but all of our friends
have been buying them from us to use with their litters. If you are going to
be at the show in Olympia over the weekend of the 8th, I will bring you some
of these pads. Having a cover over the floor doesn't seem to effect the
heating capabilities of the whelping nest. Please use it next time. You
simply won't believe how well it works. Let me know about the COTW show.
