I truly don't wish to rehash old stuff but when you blithely say
"put it behind us and move on" you know not of what you speak. The CKCSC
USA had every opportunity to be the parent club. Nobody would have opposed
them. Instead, they lied to the membership by telling them the AKC was
plotting a "hostile takeover" which of course was not true by any stretch
of the imagination. They were simply recognizing the breed and permitting
those who wished (nobody was forced) to register their dogs AKC.
In order to protect the breed from leadership by puppy mills
and.or not so hot breeders - 12 people stepped in and formed the ACKCSC
because it NEEDED to be done and the CKCSC USA was blocking it at every turn.
The result was those 12 people were brought up on charges, fined
$2000 each, thrown out of the club, and of course suspended indefinitely
from all privileges. They went so far as to prohibit our presence within
200 yards of a show - something they couldn't legally do since the shows
are in hotels open to the public.
NOW, even if we wanted to, how do you suggest we could put that
behind us?
