It is fairly common with certain types of exhibitors. I think it boils down
to the fact that some people love to show their dogs win or lose, and some
people only love to watch their dogs win. Failing that, they can do what
they can to prevent someone else from winning. It happens, and as far as I
know, there are no rules against it. You can always say that your dog
suddenly became ill and who is to argue with you? MYra Savant
