I can tell you how some of my buyers ended up with a show quality Cavalier from me--the things that impressed me. The first time I talked to many of them was at a dog SHOW. Many had done their RESEARCH thoroughly and knew what they were talking about. They continued to go to shows and I saw them around and got to talk to them further. They had continued to LEARN about the breed. Some even attended a Cavalier specialty to study Cavaliers some more. They visited me periodically. All the while I could see that they were beginning to understand breed type. They were willing to WAIT for the right dog. One waited a little more than a year, one about 9 months. The others longer than that. I wanted them to have something really nice--not just something. Things they did not do. They did not call every breeder in the country over and over. They called many breeders once, then focused on the breeders they felt comfortable with only. They did not get impatient and demand a puppy, any puppy--now (and that happens A LOT!!!). They did not just listen to me, but got information from lots of breeders and kept an open mind. They acted like sponges, listening and learning all the time. I was impressed and they got a puppy--a nice puppy.
