Couldn't agree with you more Linda. There are far to many people "in" Cavaliers because they are the "in Breed " to own. What is wrong with starting off with a pet and starting to learn from there??? Why do people expect to be spoon fed information that it has taken a person many years to learn themselves. Why expect there to be a financial return? From where I sit I find it appalling that no sooner has someone acquired a bitch than the next topic is who it can be bred to and how often. I won't even start on what my opinion is of the contracts that some poor new owners are required to sign!! As for buying bitches first from one kennel and then from another with no thought as to type or pedigree be they imports or from the US. That is not the way to breed and why I foresee a generic Cavalier in the future - passing all its health clearances but the true essence of the Cavalier lost Again just my opinion for what it is worth
