Yes, it does get discouraging. Also sometimes downright funny. We bred our lovely little girl to a lovely boy. We had to ship her quite a distance (I'll never do that again). We only got one live puppy. Very, very premature with no hair. We took turns getting up every two hours tube feeding him for days. I was so bonded to the little puppy. As he grew, it became apparent to me that he was terribly undershot, pretty hocky, had one big ole white eye and more freckles than Howdy Doody. All that planning, all that hope and we had one little puppy who truly just wasn't very pretty. To make matters even worse, he was a dog's dog from the get go, and never really loved me very much.
