I NEVER used the word *solve*. I said the only way I could do my BEST job
in breeding was to have this information. Please go back and look.

And you are right, JUST having info on Cathy's dogs won't do me a whole lot
of good--a little, but not a whole lot. I need info on EVERYONE's dogs in
order to do the best job--in order to breed intelligently and genotypically.
This is why it is important to not only cardiologist check your dogs every
year, but make that info available to others who are breeding. EVERY SINGLE
PIECE of information helps a teeny, tiny bit. A lot of information helps
much more.

It is also JUST as important to have that same information on the pet
puppies that are sold. I now have a Pet Contract that states that I
STRONGLY encourage every owner of my puppies to have the *puppy*
cardiologist checked when it reaches 5 years of age and to send me the
certificate. I discuss this with my buyers and unfortunately I do give
preference to those who live close enough to a cardiologist to make this
feasible.

I can't imagine why a breeder wouldn't want to do the best job they can in
breeding Cavaliers. Or why they would *choose* to *breed in the dark*.
