And of course, Laura, Dr. Padgett and other geneticists recommend that parent
breed clubs sponsor an open registry for health testing results as well.
Breed clubs who have sponsored such open regisries can truly begin to collect
the data that may help breeders to comprehend the mode of transmission on these
genetically transmitted diseases.  At that point, progress can be made.
However, it is pretty clear that there is a still very little knowledge in the
breeding community about genetics, and very little interest in learning more.
