Hi I am new to the list but not to cavaliers. My last puppy (7months now) was a really hard pup to train. WE gave up on the create thing and inlisted the help of my mother. I stayed home from work for two weeks and them my Mom took over. WE tried the create thing with exactly what you are describing. We had to take her every twenty minuets and stay with her until she went for one whole week. I also started her on amoxicillan( might have been a little infection going on). We gradually got to stretch out the time frame and within two weeks she was trained. The bad part is she expects us to read her mind from another part of the house. She will go sit by the door but not make a sound and if we don't notice her subtile hints to go out she will go right in front of the door and then bug us to go see what she did. We never scolded her for doing this because I didn't need a secret pooper( one that hides behind the couch and goes and no one can figure out where the smell is coming from). If we have her sleep in her kennel she will poop but if she sleeps in our bed she is good as gold. We now let her out for 20 minuets(no matter how cold) or until she does her job.WE do this after feeding her breakfast and about 10-15 minuets. WE remove all other food and water until evening when we repeat the process. A rigid schedule has worked for us and now for her thank God!! WE were about 1 day away from giving her a kennel home or putting her down. I hope this helps but you might talk to your vet about a small run of antibiotic just to make sure it isn't a little infection going on as well. Kris
