Hi, Glenn,
        How much exercise does Charlie get?  I'm wondering if a couple of good
walks during the course of his day might not take off the weight and
enable you to feed something palatable.
        If he is like most of my Cavaliers, he won't run around a heck of a lot
on his own, but need to be "inspired" to do so.  <G>
