You know he will scratch to go outside and then scratch to get back in a minute later because he realized (before I did) that I tended to give him a carrot for coming in when I called him. He thought all he had to to is go out and come back in and he could get another carrot treat! I have had Old English Sheepdogs, Bischons, and STD Poodles and have yet to find a dog as smart as Charlie. When I talk with him i can hold his attention longer than I can hold the attention of most of my friends and relatives!
