For the influence of ancestors when there are no matching ones, you start at the parents and divide. Each parent is 50%, each grandparent is 25%, each grt grandparent is 12.5% and so on, with each following generation being one half of the one before it. Please remember that this is just a formula and real life may be very different.
It is possible for a parent to give more genes that came from one of the grandparents than the other. Think of it as the proverbial bowl of black and white marbles. If a parent gets 50 black from their sire and 50 white from their dam, the 50 that the parent gives to an offspring may be any combination of blacks and whites from all white to all black ( this would not be the most frequent, but could happen. I suspect that the most frequent would be to have the genes tilted slightly in favor of one grandparent or the other). Formulas are helpful, but we must always remember that life isn't that easy and neither is genetics. I do use the inbreeding coefficients when planning litters. The CompuPed function seems to be the most accurate in figuring inbreeding. The more inbreeding that has been done in a 10 generation pedigree, the more likely that genes coming from that distant ancestor that is linebred on will show up in the descendant. You can have a pedigree that looks outcrossed until you get to the fourth generation and then find that it was intensely linebred. Do I remember correctly that it is 1/16? Of course, it would be different if that were doubled up. If nothing in the pedigree matches for four generations or more, could matching "names" have an influence at that point? Yes, I have the books, but don't have time to look at the moment. I know we have several people on the list that are really great with genetics.
