Oh Myra...put me on the spot...lol. I try to keep my "titles" in the dark
..:) Seriously, As Past President of the local Gig Harbor Kennel Club and
current President of Cavaliers of Puget Sound (and yes, I also belong to
CKCSC-USA and COTW) I think it is a great idea. I see no reason why clubs
(all breed and specialty clubs) can't send letters reminding the judges of
the no trim--natural only look as being part of the standard. We could also
mention to them that there is a growing concern that coats are being tampered
with. the letter would have to be worded in such a way as not to offend any
one. I, also, think it is very appropriate for Cavalier owners to contact the
local clubs and request it be done. If we provided a letter for them to use
(so it won't be to much work for the club) I would think they would send them
out on their letterhead. If not, there is nothing that says individuals can't
send letters, too. The judge's addresses are listed in the Premium List. I
will be happy to present this concept to the board of COPS at the end of the
month and to ask the GHKC board what they think of the idea. My guess would
be that the local specialty club (s) will be more willing than all breed
clubs. There are other folks on this list who could check with their local
clubs, too. Just some ideas. Nancy
