I have used debarking rather successfully in the past for obstreperous
dogs. I had an appointment at my vets for one this am. Yesterday he
called and canceled the appointment indicating that he had reversed his
opinion about the practice of debarking. He cited several reasons for this
change. One was asphyxiation and another one was pneumonia.

Has anyone heard of any recent studies to indicate that this is no longer
recommended or safe? I have three dogs who are becomming a neighborhood
problem.
