I do sympathize. Except for one that I did use a shock collar for, and it
did work, I don't have that problem. No magic solution, but maybe my regular
training method is the reason. The one that did bark is from my first litter
ever and I knew I did not like it. I see no reason my neighbors should have
to listen to my dogs -- so from then on whenever anyone barked - they all had
to come in. I started by opening the door and shouting NO. When they looked
at me I would say "That's it. Now you are all coming in." So I guess the
little ones learn from the big ones that the minute you bark the fun is over.
It is at the point that I don't even have to yell. I just knock on my
window and they know I want them in. It does work. But do I know for sure
that if I did not do that they would be barkers, no. I do think it would be
worth a shot. Even if they do start to bark if they know you are serious and
you shout NO, perhaps they will listen. Obviously I don't leave my dogs
outside for long periods of time and certainly now when I am out of range.
Let me know if you try it and how it works.
Good Luck. I do know how hard it is to live with and must say I am suprised
the shock collar does not work.
