As a realtor, I have had experience with warping, etc and getting the company
to stand behind it.
As as realtor, I must tell you that Pergo is not as attractive as real wood
and will not necessarily help the value of your house.  People look at as an
expensive vinyl floor substitute.
As a homeowner and a Cavalier owner, if you take care of the wood floor and
have it waxed (non slippery) and sealed it does not scratch TOO badly.  As
for maintenance, I find wood floors easier in the long run and easy to clean
with a quick going over with this broom like thing that attracts dust and
hair.  It is flat and made of some wooley substance.  I just run it over the
floor once a day (no sweeping, just glide) and it picks up everything.
