When we moved to Florida, one of the more pleasing sights to me was seeing our neighbors out walking their dogs. Even though we are in a semi rural area, everyone (with one exception) walks them on a leash. I've had so many nice chats while out walking, and it didn't take our dogs long to introduce themselves to the neighbors, either. I suspect they were doing the cavalier thing, sniffin out the best cooks.
