I really didn't mean for it to sound as harsh as it did. It was just an observation not a criticism. I was just trying to make the point that when a breeder holds out a puppy to be even potentially something special that breeder takes on more responsibility to the new owner than if it was a pet quality sale. And I know it's impossible but part of that responsibility is making sure that you sell your show prospect to someone who is willing and able to finish a worthy dog AND love the dog. If you make the wrong decision you have to accept responsibility for that. The responsible breeder says, " hey, I thought they would be good show people but I was wrong." Then if they want some money back because they were sold a pet instead of a show dog, you swallow hard and bite the bullet.
