Pat,
Thanks for the very nice response. I feel I should answer each response
because people have taken time to express their opinion to me, (and sometime
OF me) and I am grateful to them.

I don't think my opinion is that far off from most people on the list. I do
think that some of the readers have taken what I said a little bit too
personal. I think this is because when we are conscientious we just tend to
question ourselves and subconsciously feel we should have done more.

My criticism is with those breeders that are mainly just in it for the money.
They think nothing of charging LOTS for a show puppy and touting how good it
is and then once the sale is made they hope they never hear from you again.

I think that most of the people on this list care. When they sell a puppy as
a show prospect and the puppy developments disqualifying faults they feel
very bad about it. If they sold the puppy for more then pet price I think
many would offer to return the difference. I think many would not abandon the
buyer and maybe offer another prospect at pet price or offer to breed later
(if appropriate) at no cost.

I don't think it's really a money issue as much as an abandonment issue. I
don't think most buyers really want their money back. I know I sure don't.
I just want to know that the breeder is there to give her help and support.
That's worth so much more than money. And when the breeder does this she
eventually adds to the viability of her line and her reputation.
