Excellent post and I agree with pretty much all of what you wrote.  My only
two comments would be.....

1) Just because breeders can get someone to agree to the terms doesn't mean
it is fair or just.  Though yes you are right the buyer takes some blame for
agreeing.

but

2)  Although I don't see breeders locking people in rooms until they ante up
I have seen numerous occassions where breeders try to convince people seeking
Cavaliers that all reputable breeders sell on terms similar to theirs and if
you find it cheaper or without co-own or strings etc then it is of lesser
quality.  They then give references to other breeders who have similar terms
to themselves and in this way I feel mislead the buyer into a less then
favorable deal.

Buyer beware... yes they take some blame
but it doesn't make it right
