Gerri, you are right that the tests are subjective. That is why I look at
all of our dogs x-rays myself. Also, there was some furor a while back at
the poor job that the OFA vets were doing at reading the x-rays. Some say
that you could send the same x-ray in twice and get two different grades. I
certainly have seen ones that I would have rated higher and lower than they
were rated by the OFA people. A bad hip is a bad hip, but rating the normal
hips can be like choosing the best bitch from an open class of 20 black
cockers.
