Hi Peggy,

I know exactly what you are going through. 4X4X8's were not enough we had
to go to 6X6X8's and then nail the fencing to them. You can always try
planting evergreen bushes on the outside of the fence. There are some
rather low, spready, prickly ones out there. What about blocking her view
at the base of the fence. There are green strips that fit into the
openings that may deter her from wanting to be outside. The other option
is that both Home Depot and Lowes carry a product that is used for roofs on
decks and porches, sheds that comes in sheets 4X8 I believe , in red, green
and clear. Perhaps you can use this at the base of the fence. If you cut
it to 3' tall and attach it to the fence behind the 6X6's that might work.
This stuff is some sort of plastic and durable.

Maybe if she can't see out she will remain in.

Good luck! Boy did your post bring back memories of my first Cavalier and
her best friend Jezebel, scaling the 5' fence, digging under it and going
around it. Jezebel would take Chelsea on these adventures, leave her
someplace, come home and then the call would come to get Chelsea at a
neighbor's house. It didn't last long but where you are now, we have been.
We finally went to 6' stockade fencing, 6X6 ties and bushes. You would
have thought we were protecting Ft. Knox. Oh wait, we were! Still are.

Sharona
