I totally agree. Shortening the docstrings even more is *way* too much work for everyone. Why should anyone do this when the docstrings are short enough to perfectly fit into the tooltip? Another point which favors docstring-in-tooltip: You can simply save the html on your disk for easy-to-use offline access.
