I would suggest you try this install yourself. Though I'll take your money
if you'd like.

Here's why.

Most importantly, by doing your own install, you'll see that Linux isn't as
unfriendly as it is sometimes made to sound.
Most of this will "just work".
KDE will be there. Mandrake was originally Red Hat designed to prefer KDE
rather then Gnome, IIRC. It's grown since, but KDE will be there for sure.
Start Office (or Open Office (the free version)) will probably be there, or
it'll be a DL from the net.
Your Telus Internet connection should work easily. Set up the TCP/IP stuff
(if it isn't DHCP) and go. I'd be surprised if you need anything further.
(PPPoE maybe, but doubtful.)
KDE will give you an excellent mail reader. Kmail.
Konquerer will be installed with KDE, chances are you'll also get Mozilla.
Opera is a download, but again, it isn't a problem.
I'm not sure how Mandrake sets up printers, but this group will be more than
happy to help you with it. Mandrake is probably the groups most common
distro.
Outgoing faxes shouldn't be too hard, but the combination of Linux, Faxing,
and Me.... Well, we ain't friends...

Secondly, it will give you a really good chance to move from lurker to
active messenger.

Third, it's actually fun to learn new stuff like this.

Kev.
