To be honest that was Kari keeping us on the straight-and-narrow. You are welcome. > Second, I think SAIT should have an opportunity to counter offer, but if they > don't respond in a timely manner they will have effectively said we aren't > worthy of a counter offer / decision. If not, > then I don't think we'll ever have a stable situation with them. SAIT have been given the opportunity to counter-offer, no word yet. No they are not aware of the DeVry offer. Officially we have been flying under the radar. The officials at SAIT aren't even aware that we have been meeting there. I know we have had a number of SAIT students and a few instructors show up to meetings I hope that they will stay with us if we move. Stability is certainly an issue with SAIT as it stands now. > Third, Is DeVry talking about a permanent arrangement? Will we need to go > through this again in a few months or a year? Do they have other rooms available? DeVry have left this open ended as far as we are concerned. We can have the space for as long as we want it. AFAIK we have at least a year of guaranteed space, no penalty to leave at any time. The only thing they have asked for (actually we offered) is the advertising on our website under sponsors and plugging them at meetings. This is all stuff I do as a a matter of course anyway, no hardship here. The room we have tentatively been offered could have extra chairs brought in to grow over 100 but we may still have further options... > As for location, DeVry or SAIT are both easy to get too. I think this is well covered. > I don't envy the choice the executive has to make, but trust they will make > the choice that is best for the group. It is a huge issue to try and keep our meeting place fairly stable. We have not paid anyone for the use of facilities thus far and that is a huge thing. How many organizations can say that they don't pay for their meeting place? Not many I'd wager. We are still not big enough to be able to cover those kind of costs. I think it is encouraging that we have grown big enough (or interesting or what-have-you) to catch the eye of places like DeVry. They are wooing us not the other way around. > Thanks for keeping us informed Jarrod. Thank the Executive as a whole, I'm only part of the team. It's not really fair for the 'front-man' to always get the kudos, the rest of the band are just as important.
