I have also had good luck with the Axiom 49

I increased the Periods/Buffer even more to 8 | and there are almost no more errors. I still get the odd: | late driver wakeup: nframes to process = 2048. The problem is that this will increase the latency which you will notice while playing a soft synth via a midi/usb keyboard. |> It is worth getting a better sound card if live playing or really low |> latency is important. | | I guess that's kinda hard with a laptop...unless someone is making a decent | external USB soundcard. Check the ffado site for supported firewire devices. http://www.ffado.org/?q=devicesupport/list I believe Edirol makes a USB sound card that works well under linux. I usually bring my laptop to the store so that I can test their floor units. I have a pretty good relationship with some of the guys at Axe Music, they have let me bring stuff back that I couldn't get working. Also, each model is different, and two devices by the same manufacturer may behave completely differently. RME is a classic example of this (I have an RME 9652 that works flawlessly, but the RME Fireface is not supported. Research research research. Then try before you buy, if you can. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.6 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFHokXkwRXgH3rKGfMRAveAAJ41ShzSIvxhWOlH6hF+BEr7cp0CagCbBnLL lFyOhkrGbC2qOZIV0nD37qI= =1/Iq -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- _______________________________________________ clug-talk mailing list [email protected] http://clug.ca/mailman/listinfo/clug-talk_clug.ca Mailing List Guidelines (http://clug.ca/ml_guidelines.php) **Please remove these lines when replying
