Yeah, I'm in the same boat...with a few other "networking hobbies" thrown in 
as well. I don't want to have to carry around more than one laptop, so if I 
can make my existing hardware work as good as possible then that's what I'm 
hoping for.

I tried Ardour on the 64studio live CD and couldn't make it do anything...I 
have a pretty steep learning curve ahead  :)
