Nathan, thanks for your reponse. I guess the MDS nurse's that leave, have so much wealth of experience and knowledge, that it is a shame. We have worked hard to do the right thing, making critical decisions, had staff angered at us, turn into a nurse from hell, but it is still a wonderful puzzle to put together. I am considering, consulting work. Not only do I feel comfortable w/MDS/ SNF; I was involved in the beginning of OASIS and did hospice work for >4years. Thank you again

My guess is that is about the average time that most MDS coordinators stay at the job. Of course there are some that stay at it much longer than that, but many don't. > >I was speaking with Rosemary Dunn from CMS today. They recognize the impact that turnover has on the entire MDS process. It is a joke. What a luxury to have all the team actually do the labor intensive work that I do. Believe me, I hope I am doing it right q MDS and q year when the state, social service or other walk in to pursue my charts. I wonder how the MDS nurse's do this more than >5 years. I love what I do, I learn daily, but I am on the fence and have been thinking of making a career move. I feel the weight of the entire facility on my shoulders daily. Ok now I will have some wine with my cheese. > > > > > > > Claudia > >From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > >Reply-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > >To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] (aanac) > >Subject: ASSESSMENTS > >Date: Fri, 30 Jan 2004 22:38:44 +0000 > > > >Do you get your dietary, activities, nursing, social service to complete their assessments within the observation period, by the A3a date?
