Lets see, was the res alert ,is it documented that she is aware that soft undercooked yellow in an egg may cause salmonella, is she aware of the risks,is it care planned?
Its just awful the things you have to do  to give a res what the want. The state often says they want the facility to be home like. Who has to jump through all theses hoops to get a over easy egg!!!!

Subject: Re: Immediate Jeopardy "K"

I know the emotional trauma you are feeling.  Our dietary manager was cooking eggs overeasy for a resident - whites well done - when an immediate jeopardy was cited.  As she was cooking the egg I thought how nice that she would take the time to cook one egg just the way a resident likes it.  Since the yellow was not hard - then the surveyor said the resident was at risk for salmonella and an immediate jeopardy was issued.  Makes you just want to leave the industry at times!
