#1 - Yes the
facility billed Medicare Part A for 100 days of skilled care r/t oxygen
use.
#2 - I meant
the Fiscal Intermediary.
#3 - Other
that the Oxygen use, resident was not receiving any other skilled
services.
The best bet
is to check with you Fiscal Intermediary because it seems they all interpret
things differently.
Hope this
helps.

Subject: Re: To skill or not
1. Did the facility bill Medicare Part A for 100 days of skilled care related the oxygen use?
2. You mention that the "provider" considers that the resident remained skilled because of the oxygen use.
a. Do you mean the 'provider' of oxygen services? or
do you mean your facility Fiscal Intermediary?
3. What other care does the resident require? any skilled services?
Delores
I agree but that's not what our provider says. We have had more that 1
resident who has used his full 100 days &then, just because he is on
chronic Oxygen use, he never is able to qualify for another benefit
period as the provider considers that he has remained skilled because of
the Oxygen use.
