Sandy, I'm not sure where the info came from, but I can assure you that there are people in this group in complete molecular remission and in their 6th year treatment and still going strong. Gleevec is the frontline drug treatment for CML. For those patients (about 5% or so)who either have a drug intolerance or end up with a mutation that Gleevec can't control have other drug treatments which have also been very successful.
