John, all of mine were flush (countersunk) but I could not find anything
that fit on the market. The thru-hulls they were manufacturing 30 years ago
aren't available anymore, apparently. The closest I came were some buck
algonquin ones but the diameter of the mushroom was smaller so they didn't
exactly work. I would recommend going to mushrooms for all of them. This
means that there will be a slight "dimple" around the mushroom if your
holes are all countersunk like mine were. If you are concerned put down a
layer of epoxy to seal the exposed FG before installing the new thru hulls.
If you are racing you may want consider other options like filling the
recess and then re-drilling the countersink to suit the size of the new
flush fittings. That's a huge pain though, I tried that with mixed results.
The recommendation to pull the thru-hulls first is sound advice.

You can see what I'm describing here:

Your thru-hulls and holes may be different.
You're welcome for the long email I sent you about all of this last night.
