Hi John, You don't have to replace OEM with same make and model. Much progress has been made since 1980 in materials.
Really like our Forespar Marelon flush seacocks. You will need to be very handy to get the 45 degree chamfer required in the outside layers of fiberglass, but can be done with different size hole saws a dremel. They are very reliable and don't require electrical bonding or risk electrolysis like metal thruhulls. The Forespar poduct is thrubolted with three SS bolts each. The bolt heads get faired over. Very slick.
