I begin to realize why the local boat yards take the approach of hole sawing the old through hulls out and starting again once then have repaired the fiberglass. If you are paying their labour it's probably more cost effective. Has anyone here ever reconditioned the rubber plugs in the Groco SV seacocks? According to the nice man at Groco, it's a real easy thing to do. He's given me the low down on how to do it and says they will be good for another 20 years afterwards. Since they are in the business of selling them I have no reason to doubt him but wondered if anyone has first hand experience. The year built is 1981/82. We have not hauled the boat since we bought it in 2010 and I can't remember from the survey quick lift what type they were. Also does anyone know what make the 3/4" seacocks are, I can't find any clues on the valve bodies, I know that the 1-1/2" are Groco SV, at least one of which I am replacing. The 3/4" are all in need of servicing so it would be nice to know who the manufacturer was.
