John,

Steve may be right, but as Gary and I both said, noting is more accurate
than an actual inspection. Realize that not all of your thru-hulls may have
been installed at the factory. The dealer may have added as well as
previous owners.

Frustrating as it may be, I would err on the side of caution and wait before
you buy.

John, all of mine were flush (countersunk) but I could not find anything
that fit on the market. The thru-hulls they were manufacturing 30 years ago
aren't available anymore, apparently. The closest I came were some buck
algonquin ones but the diameter of the mushroom was smaller so they didn't
exactly work. I would recommend going to mushrooms for all of them. This
means that there will be a slight "dimple" around the mushroom if your holes
are all countersunk like mine were. If you are concerned put down a layer of
epoxy to seal the exposed FG before installing the new thru hulls. If you
are racing you may want consider other options like filling the recess and
then re-drilling the countersink to suit the size of the new flush fittings.
That's a huge pain though, I tried that with mixed results.

The recommendation to pull the thru-hulls first is sound advice.

You can see what I'm describing here:

Your thru-hulls and holes may be different.

You're welcome for the long email I sent you about all of this last night.

I agree with Jake (as usual). My 1980 version has both. The head area thru
hulls are mushroom style, as is the drain from the propane locker, but the
cockpit drains are flush. Wait.

I don't know if there are different options but I would expect it knowing
the bottom of my 1982 C&C 32.

John,

I like to buy parts in advance, but I would wait on this one. Once you pull
the thru hull, you will know what you need.

Subject: Stus-List C&C 32 Through Hulls

Hi All,

I have a seacock (or maybe 3) to replace in my C&C 32, I was going to
purchase a replacement through hull for it in advance as well just in case,
does anyone know if they are mushroom head or recessed fittings? The year
built is 1981/82. We have not hauled the boat since we bought it in 2010 and
I can't remember from the survey quick lift what type they were.

Also does anyone know what make the 3/4" seacocks are, I can't find any
clues on the valve bodies, I know that the 1-1/2" are Groco SV, at least one
of which I am replacing. The 3/4" are all in need of servicing so it would
be nice to know who the manufacturer was.

Thanks in Advance

John
