Chuck:
The Kirby 25 was our boat and Dwight was racing with me and my brother
that day. We were holding off, on a long spinnaker run, a well raced
C&C 37R here called 'Third Wave'. I know we really annoyed the skipper
of the 37R because the next day he had a diver check out the bottom of
his boat......he thought he might have dragging something. Turns out
that was not the case......doesn't really make sense does it but it
happened.
The K25 and 37R were in different classes, but nevertheless, he could
not pass us on a long downwind run.

Hi Dwight,
I imagine the Kirby 25 was planing and surfing while you guys were not
able to?
I hate when they put planing boats in with our division, but that's
PHRF. Melges 20, Melges 24, but the most impressive thing was an all
carbon Viper 640 that even led the fleet to the windward mark in 4
knot wind and gained a little on each leg, especially downwind.

K25, which was a really slippery little boat, raced side by side with
a C&C 37R in goods winds under spinnaker on a long run in from
Chebucto Head and we held our own easy...only 3 of us onboard that
day...very memorable day...First in Class I seem to recall...Bob may
have a say on that day too
