I never did figure out why set_focus is failing to create a restricted_fx, I have verified that set_focus is working, that I am using .5rc0, that everything is initialized right. (Thank you I was missing the some stuff from some_proxies.py)
I finally got fed up with searching for this restricted_fx and restricted_fy and replaced all instances with scroller.fx and fy. It seems to be working just fine, so I will keep moving.
