I can speak about both hg and git, becase I've used both of them, and even
when I've started from hg ([1] + some development at work) for exactly the
same reasons you mention, and used hg a lot - see e.g. [2], for me the
clear winner is git:


1. git is *much* more capable and stable compared to hg.

1. git has good support on win32 too:

If you are used to hg, [3] could be an interesting link to you.

Git is marvelous, really. Once you play with it a bit, it goes very well.
