Well, that is kind of my deeper question, what do you use your compact
mac for? Or better stated, what tasks do you find a compact mac not
just adequate for, but exceptionally good at?

I get that feeling unfortunately, I have been unable to connect mine

Just to create disk images? Seems like a waste of a good machine!
What else do you use it for?

What is Dinosaur Designer, a game?

Well sure a 68040 is nice I guess, but, I think that a G4 is the best
tool of the job, if you are gonna go retro, why not go really retro?
Personally, to me, a 68040 is just too new to be cool and too old to be
useful.

I have never used a plus, but I fear that I can't see what use I would
have for one, since it doesn't have a HDD, the floppy is only 800k, and
it doesn't use ADB peripherals. Unfortunately, the plus is just too
old for me. I do have a 512k sitting in the basement however!
